Population monitoring

All captured hawksbill turtles are recorded with the date and location of capture, in addition to taking standardized measurements for sea turtles (curved length and width of carapace, length and width of plastron, weight, among others). Identification tags and PITs are also placed. This to know the size of the population in the region and trends in use and fidelity of the habitat.
